Bellwether Dark Roast Pack

$30 (3 x 12 oz bags)

Dark roast coffees are typically roasted for a longer period of time and end at higher temperatures, giving them a rich, dark-brown color. The primary flavors in a dark roast are those imparted by the roasting process itself where notes of bittersweet chocolate, toasted nuts, and caramel tend to come through. A dark roast also has a distinctively low acidity level compared to light or medium roasts. They tend to be fuller-bodied and almost syrupy in texture. It’s enjoyed by those who prefer a deeper, richer, and more intense flavor in their coffee with minimal brightness.

The full-bodied texture melds seamlessly with the creamy mouthfeel added by milk for a lush, velvety drinking experience. We recommend brewing methods that highlight the body and intensity of dark roasts, such as a french press, drip brew, or even an old-school espresso shot paired with milk. We hope you enjoy these coffees that we believe shine in this particular roast style.

Meridian Blend Bag
Meridian Blend

The idea behind this blend was to create a coffee focused on balance, sweetness, and versatility. The Meridian Blend hits all those marks and then some. Dark roasts of this coffee bring out notes of toasted hazelnut, bittersweet chocolate, brown sugar and sweet pipe tobacco. As a drip coffee the Meridian Blend is a total crowd-pleaser, but complex enough for customers looking for more. We also love this coffee as a bright and creamy shot of espresso with notes of caramel and toasted hazelnut.

Nicaragua La Estrella Bag
Nicaragua La Estrella

Nicaragua La Estrella performs a balancing act, expressing complex notes of almond brittle and fruit leather in its lighter forms, while maintaining a round yet delicate body. We experienced its darker expressions as viscous and syrupy, exhibiting notes of bakers chocolate, black currant, and fudge. This is a fantastic coffee that can offer both versatility and sophistication to any coffee menu, shining as a chocolatey and thick espresso or as a sweet and balanced cup of brewed coffee.

Ethiopia Limmu Kossa Bag
Ethiopia Limmu Kossa

Ethiopia Limmu Kossa is an exquisitely bright and delicate coffee, full of dynamic floral notes, layers of sweetness and balanced citric acidity. This coffee holds up exceptionally well in darker roast styles with an abundance of sweetness, a thick and syrupy body and notes of honeycomb, milk chocolate and sugarplum steal the show. We recommend Ethiopia Limmu Kossa as a juicy, floral batch brew or as a silky and charismatic shot of espresso.
